I cheated the randomness of my music again this morning.

Had to go with Turnpike Troubadours’ “The Funeral”

Fitting line:

Why’s it take a funeral just to bring you back to town?

The music opened up with some twang with “Shreveport“ from the Turnpike Troubadours.  I think they are my favorite band that not everyone has heard of.

Their lyrics paint a picture nearly each and every time.

Favorite Line:

Crawfish hotter than a chimney fire, the beer was cheap and cold
And the bar maid smiled that kind of smile that knocked me off my stool
Said hang around I’ll show you things they don’t teach in school

I’ve never had crawfish. Might have to try them at some point. Well as long as the beer is cheap and cold.

The music today opened with a little twang from Turnpike Troubadours with “Every Girl”.

Favorite Line:

Now her voice it is a mel-o-dy that sings just like a bird
Oh she’s every song I’ve ever heard

Turnpike Troubadours opened the music for Easter Sunday with “1968″. I’ve only known of them for a short time(a couple of years), but I really like their music.

Favorite Line:

“There ain’t a thing in the world to take me back
Like a dark-haired girl in a Cadillac”

The first song on this Sunday was “Gin, Smoke & Lies” by the Turnpike Troubadours.

Favorite Line:

Well if you been true
Well if you been true
You better look me in the eyes
All I smell is cheap perfume
and gin…and smoke…and lies

If you’d have married that girl
You’d have married her family
You dodged a bullet my friend

“The Bird Hunters”, Turnpike Troubadours

Pandora opened with a little twang. “Shreveport” by the Turnpike Troubadours.

Favorite Line from the song:

And the barmaid smiled that kind of smile that knocked me off my stool
Said hang around I’ll show you things they don’t teach in school

I bet she could!
