The music opened earlier with the twang of the Turnpike Troubadours with “Diamonds & Gasoline”

Favorite Line:

 All the colors
They shine and fade away
Well they’re just like News Years Day
They’re here and then they’re gone

Well stage right enter Jimmy,
just a counterfeit James Dean,
with a pocket full of delta blues
and cheap amphetamine.

“The Funeral”
Turnpike Troubadours

If this were baseball, the Turnpike Troubadours would have just had back to back hits, as the music opened with “Shreveport” another one of their songs that brings a little twang to the table.

Favorite Line:(will give the barmaid a break)

I wish I was in Shreveport just a gambling like a fool
Yeah you can learn some things down there they don’t teach in school

The music earlier started with a little twang with “7 & 7″  by the Turnpike Troubadours.

Favorite Line:

Well I, well know hello would surly end up awkward
I never had the knack for talkin any way
You’re not the kind for bending over backwards
Smile and turn my shopping cart around and walk away

I cheated the randomness of my music again this morning.

Had to go with Turnpike Troubadours’ “The Funeral”

Fitting line:

Why’s it take a funeral just to bring you back to town?

The music opened up with some twang with “Shreveport“ from the Turnpike Troubadours.  I think they are my favorite band that not everyone has heard of.

Their lyrics paint a picture nearly each and every time.

Favorite Line:

Crawfish hotter than a chimney fire, the beer was cheap and cold
And the bar maid smiled that kind of smile that knocked me off my stool
Said hang around I’ll show you things they don’t teach in school

I’ve never had crawfish. Might have to try them at some point. Well as long as the beer is cheap and cold.

The music today opened with a little twang from Turnpike Troubadours with “Every Girl”.

Favorite Line:

Now her voice it is a mel-o-dy that sings just like a bird
Oh she’s every song I’ve ever heard
