I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is exactly what Brian Wilson was picturing when he and Mike Love put down the lyrics to Surfin’ USA to that Chuck Berry tune.

“A bushy bushy blonde hairdo
Surfin’ U. S. A.”

Dennis Wilson, The Beach Boys

That moment when you realize you need to simply mark something off a fictitious “bucket list” (I do not have one), because there is zero chance it actually happens in a way that it would be “bucket list” worthy.   I always wanted to see The Beach Boys in concert.  It shouldn’t have taken me 35 years to realize that ship sailed in 1983 with the death of Dennis Wilson, or again in 1998 with the death of Carl Wilson.

I just watched a video on youtube from a 2017 concert which would have been better dubbed Mike Love and The Douches.   John Stamos on drums. Mark Mcgrath sputtering “do it or doing it” time and time again.  This was horrid.

Maybe if it were Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, Bryan Johnston & Love I’d consider it, but, some 90′s pop trash with Danny Tanner’s brother in-law.   No there is only one Uncle Jesse and he wore overalls. I’ll pass on the douchefest.

Thankfully I can watch real versions to erase this monstrosity.
