I had two
dreams last night in which I recall enough of them to comment.
In the first
dream, I was in a Lowes store. I’m not
sure what I was picking up but I had a couple of things in my cart and I was
near the ceiling fan section and there was a man arguing with the Lowes
employee about something being out of stock. He said his “puter”(I’ve
heard that at Wal-mart near Atlanta
before),said that the store had model xyz in stock. The girl took him to the
shelf and showed him the empty space. She walked him over to a terminal and
showed him a zero on the screen, she made a quick call and he was huffing and
puffing and using some not so nice language and he was saying “By God I’ll
go to Home Depot”.
boomed, “GO TO HOME DEPOT”, and he turned around startled and the
actor(Geno Segers) that played “Chayton”, from the show
“Banshee”(also in a Navy Federal Credit Union Commercial) was
standing there in a Lowes smock that barely fit him. Needless to say Johnny the
Jack Ass changed his tune and bought an in-stock model. He didn’t quite
apologize to the girl, but he didn’t cause anymore trouble. Maybe Lowes should hire a bouncer for each
store to scare the shit out of unruly customers.
one was pretty simple. I was leaning on a deck at a mountain cabin looking at
the nearby stream Watching it flow, listing to the water trickle over the rocks
as it passed by. I was drinking my morning jar of coffee and I heard the door
around and a woman walked out with a more conventional mug and wearing a
robe. She sat down on the picnic table and
sipped at the morning brew. We were talking about needing to do this, or that
later that day. It felt like were talking about needing to close off the area
under the deck to make it more secure for some tools, a lawn mower and
everything of that sort. I pointed out a pretty fat Cardinal(the North Carolina state
bird) sitting on a limb of a nearby tree; when i turned back around her robe
was open. Time for breakfast.
Friday opens with the Boss and “Pink Cadillac” Can’t go wrong with a little innuendo, or a lot for that matter. This one could easily have found itself in My Top 100 Songs, but it didn’t cross my plate when I was forming the list.
They say Eve tempted Adam with an apple
But man I ain’t going for that
I know it was her… Pink Cadillac
Over the past couple of days I finished watching the second season of David Duchovny’s “Aquarius”. I hate that it was cancelled, I think I read at some point that initial plans were for it to go 5-6 seasons. I commented on it before about how the subject matters simply isn’t made for network tv.
There was simply too much sex, and violence for Network TV to begin to approach it. Maybe, someday someone will take a similar project to HBO/Cinemax/Showtime and all the morbid story to be told in a better way.
Pandora woke up frisky on Sunday morning by giving me Sophie B. Hawkins’ “Damn I Wish I was Your Lover”, from her “Tongues and Tails” album. it was then ironically followed by “I Touch Myself”, from the DiVinyls. All it was missing is Joan Jett’s “Do You Wanna Touch Me”. Yes, Joan. Yes.
I watched the Netflix show “Easy”, written and directed by Joe Swanberg, yesterday evening/last night.
It was a pretty unique show. Like any new show the first episode usually introduces you to new characters. You learn, watch them evolve, change at times etc, the only problem was that episode 2 was an entirely different story, new faces, stories etc. Well, until the final episode and it went back to continue the story line in episode three. So getting 7 sets of actors and stories was pretty neat.
It was a very sexual show, based on relationships, interactions. Some married, some single, some LGBT, some looking to explore. My only real complaint was that it was only 8 episodes. I think my favorite episode was episode 5 which was about a writer/graphic novelist that used his own personal relationships as a basis in his graphic novels, at times pissing off some of the people that he was writing about or including in the stories. To keep it short he had a reading where not many people showed up, and the group ended up at a bar to discuss his work, life, etc, and then a smaller group ended up back at his place and then most everyone left and he(50ish) ended up sleeping with a 20-something grad student(maybe). Not exactly the end of the story.
She was a bit of an artist herself and her medium was photography and took some images of him sleeping in bed once she woke up, others around his apartment and displayed them at a show/viewing, a show/viewing that he was invited to, and once he saw his pictures of him and his apartment he felt invaded and sorta flipped out in a rant that ended up on youtube, thus making his books/work a bit more popular. It was a bit ironic since some of the people he discussed and sketched in his graphic novels felt the same way. So, that interaction made it a bit funny to watch.
It was a neat little series/show, full of some faces that you’ve seen before on other shows and movies, but a lot of faces that were new to me, and I hope to see it renewed.
