It’s hard to say Happy Memorial Day since it is such an eye opener to some.  For so many families it rips the band-aid off of a wound, a lot like a birthday can when it is of someone you have lost.

For those that have served, I thank you. For those that didn’t make it home, may you rest in peace. 

The grave above is from a high school classmate/teammate of my dad’s who didn’t make it back from Vietnam. He went to college out of high school and then enlisted in the Marines. My dad enlisted in the Air Force out of high school, spent  most of his time in Germany/Japan with a brief tour in Vietman, so it make you wonder.  His friend was three months shy of finishing his time.  Just one of many lives that was cut way too short. 

The same can be said for Veteran’s Day
