I can begin to buy a part of Kevin Spacey’s statement about his actions with then teenage actor Anthony Rapp. I can start to buy that part where he might have been intoxicated and can’t recall, but I can also view it as a convenient crutch to lean on.So I can’t fully buy it as an a) the truth or b) a reason.
However, the adding “As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man.” was nothing but a calculated and guided attempt to shift the focus.
I can visualize Spacey in all his Faux-Presidential glory of “Frank Underwood” read the statement he released. Then, I can then see him peer off into the side camera like good ole Frank always does and rattle off “That little piss-ant thinks he’s going to take me down, blah blah blah.” Yep, I can see that too.
